my name is sam, i'm the great grandson of admiral c.c.kayser of the dutch royal navy. i live in u.s.a and i've been tring to seek information on my greatgrandfather's navy career. i know in 1910 he was a Lt. and was in the country of Suriname(south america) helping establish the country's boundary lines between guyana/brazil/ and suriname. i know he was the head of the netherlands section of the boundary commision in 1925.
i also saw he was a commander at the submarine station at Den Helder from dec-1926 to may 1929.
if anybody could provide me with any information about his career in the dutch navy, ships he may have been on, his travels, awards decorations. also if theres a way to contact the dutch navy to hhelp obtain a record of his service. any photos that may be around with his ships he was on, anything would help. i have cousins, and relatives in amsterdam, and geleen. my older relatives have since past away along with history of my grandfather so any help would be great.
thanks
sam
