  • Dutch ships of the line in the East Indies in 1819

    Hello everybody,

Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, who founded the city of Singapore in 1819, wrote (in a letter to a friend or later in his book - I don't remember) that the Dutch had two ships of the line, one 90-gun and one 74-gun, in the East Indies at that moment. Does anybody happen to know the names of these two ships and where they were built?

    Thanks in advance,
    Sunho

God and the Sailor we adore ashore.
Buth when War is over and Peace remitted,
God is forgotten and the Sailor quited.
